About Me
My interest in journalism came after I read a copy of Hunter S. Thompson's "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." I was intrigued by how someone could subjectively tell an objective story, so much so that I wrote my senior thesis on the contention of subjectivity in journalism, highlighting the New Journalism movement in the '70s. I have since been fascinated by this contention we used to have in our writing and how it dissipated, allowing most (not all) media outlets to report subjective opinions to large audiences. This, creating a culture of ill-informed citizens, is what I think is wrong in society today, and upholding the standards of ethical journalism is what I abide by to combat this.
When I'm not covering a story or writing, I enjoy working out, reading, expanding my library (I've amassed over 200 books), painting, and photographing.
